Seeing an ENT Doctor

I was deathly sick three weeks ago. You know when you wake up and don't even contemplate working a half day. I felt like that. But then I decided to work a half day the following day, which meant the sickness just dragged on and on. I ended up missing my work trip to DC, which I had spent many days in January planning.

It did mean, however, that I got the chance to go to an ENT doctor, which was such a random experience. It was like going to a routine check-up with the dentist. First he cleaned out my ears with a suctiony vacuum cleaner thing to check for a virus in my ears. Then he looked down my throat - your run-of-the-mill GP activity - but then he sent a camera up my nose.

'Oh, you're very congested... I don't want to go in too far in case I give you a nose blee...'
'Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww'.

Cue blood spewing out of my nose. So after all that he said he couldn't see much and that I shouldn't worry, as it was probably viral. He did treat me to a squirt of something up my nose. Thanks, Wax and Bogey Doctor. (His words, not mine.)
