The Amazing Coney Island!

We made the our-long trip to Coney Island yesterday for the annual hot dog eating contest. It was incredible - like an American version of the Olympics. Joey Chestnut was the six-times winner and record holder, who came in on a Nathan's sponsored trolley.

It was absolutely sweltering, but somehow, Joey managed to break his world record of 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes by one dog to take the new world record to 69! It was actually very fun, exciting and gross at the same time. All the contestants looked like they were convulsing and about to vomit up all the hot dogs at any moment.

We spent some time at the funfair; went on the famous ferris wheel, redeemed our coupons for a load of gash prizes, and ate deep fried twinkies. So very wrong.

We rounded the day off by going to the famous side show with all the freaks. What an amazingly fun day! Big thumbs up to Coney Island, you fulfilled every stereotype of America I could have ever dreamed of!
